Having been leap froggedby Ferrari, Williams are eager to improve performance of the FW37 to take the fight to Ferrari and Mercedes.  In China they tried out a cooling solution that the team also briefly assessed on the FW36 during 2014.

The usual configuration (left) has two engine cover cooling outlets, the green section terminating ahead of the elongated bodywork in yellow.  The configuration tried out by the team in China closed off the upper outlet with the team employing two small outlets much higher up on the engine covers spine (below).

  1. The new outlet is tiny! Is there another outlet? Underneath there must be big changes.

    1. Nope the small outlet was it, they didn't race it anyway, returning to the old layout as they were having some attachment issues by all accounts.
